Why Another Site?

I have had the good fortune to travel to many places over the years. Even as a student living in England and traveling to, say, Morocco or Prague, I took photographs, usually with a borrowed camera. I made slide shows from the 35mm slides and showed them a few times to family and friends but they mostly sat (still sit) in a drawer somewhere, never to be visited again.

After retiring, anticipating a trip to Africa, I took up digital photography and have been shooting ever since, often showing my images in exhibitions, Studio Tours, and self-published books. Finally, in 2017, I created a web site to further make my work available to friends and family who live in other parts of the country.

This new web site is about my travels and the photos that emerged from them.  They are, for the most part, not meticulously edited and not shown in other places. The trip posts are brief descriptions of the trips with a few images. The travel galleries contain more photos and descriptions of the country or locale specified in the page title.

The web site is a work in progress, starting with trips to Asia. You will see from the menu structure that I intend to add other destinations, old and, hopefully, new as time, energy and the retrieval of photos permit.
