Terracotta Army
The thousands of life sized warriors made of terracotta that were expected to protect the first emperor of China (221 BCE) in the afterlife have been described as the Eighth Wonder of the World. Although quite a few other things have been given that title, I heartily endorse the Terracotta Army. Images and descriptions of the army abound and I include a slideshow here of my images as well as other sources of detailed information.
